Climate

Because of its size, variety of of topography and altitude, Iran experiences  great extremes of climate. Winters ( December to February ) can be unpleasantly cold in most parts of the country, while in summer ( June to August ) temperatures go up as high as 40° C. The average annual temperature increases from northwest to southeast and varies from minus 10° C in Azarbaijan to 25-30° C in the south and southeast. South and north coastline areas have diverse climatic conditions compared to central and mountainous regions.

In January and February, there are three climatic zones in Iran: Shorelines of the Caspian Sea have mild and relatively cold weather, winter weather in central parts, and outturn parts that enjoy moderate and pleasant weather.

The weather in southern parts, however, grows unexpectedly very hot . The climatic condition of the country becomes complicated in summer.
